Christmas Cottage
This is Christmas Cottage in Cheddar. It's a bit different. It’s a maisonette built into the side of the gorge, so it’s on four levels. That means a lot of stairs.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is the Christmas theme. It’s decorated for Christmas all year round, with the tree and lights and everything. Each bedroom has its own theme, like 'Robin' or 'Elf Room'. You either like that idea or you don't. The living room has a wood burner.
There are two outdoor decks. One is on the lower level, and the upper deck is four floors up. The view from up there is good. You can see right across the river and up the gorge.
The location is the best part. You can walk into the village centre in a few minutes. There are pubs, shops, and the cheese places. You can also walk straight into the Cheddar Gorge from the door, which is National Trust land. The climb up Jacob’s Ladder is steep but the view is worth it. The caves are there too if you want to look.
For a bigger day out, the coast at Weston-super-Mare is about 12 miles. Bristol and Wells are within half an hour's drive. Glastonbury Abbey is about 20 minutes away.
Facilities: it has WiFi, a Smart TV, a washing machine, and parking for one car. Bedding and towels are included. It takes two pets.
