The well-equipped kitchen has everything you could need to rustle up a sumptuous meal, although there is a pub just across the road if you fancy a night off from cooking. The annexe cottage is located next door to the owners with its own entrance and has an outdoor seating area perfect on a summer’s afternoon that looks across the owners beautifully kept garden.
The cottage lies less than 3 miles from the historic cathedral city of Chichester on the edge of the South Downs National Park. This ancient city boasts a magnificent cathedral and fantastically preserved Roman walls. In addition to a wide variety of independent and high street shops, pubs and restaurants, many of the streets are edged with listed buildings. There are several art galleries and museums in Chichester, including the fine Pallant House Gallery, as well as the renowned Festival Theatre.
Within easy reach are beaches at West Wittering and Bognor Regis, the picturesque sailing village of Bosham, Arundel with its historic castle, and antique shops. The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Pagham Nature Reserve, the nautical city of Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays with designer outlets and waterside dining are also within easy reach.
Day trips to the Isle of Wight and HMS Victory and the Mary Rose can also be enjoyed. The glorious South Downs National Park is excellent for walkers, harbour tours, golf, sailing and cycling can all be enjoyed locally. National Trust homes such as Goodwood House, Petworth House and Uppark House, Weald and Downland Living Museum and West Dean Gardens are all also worth a visit.
