Eve's Cottage

Eve's Cottage is in the middle of Arundel, up a slight hill. It's a tall, skinny old cottage. You can see the cathedral from a few of the windows, and if you look south you can see all the way to the sea on a clear day.

It sleeps six, across three floors. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating which, honestly, means everything's there and it works well. Because it's old and spread over three floors, the stairs are quite steep and narrow in places. Just something to be aware of.

You get a small courtyard garden at the front. It faces south, so it catches the sun.

The town centre is a short walk down the hill. Everything's there. Good pubs, restaurants, and a lot of antique shops. Arundel Castle is the main thing. It's a proper castle you can go into, with big grounds. The walk up the motte to the keep is steep but the view is worth it.

For a walk, you can go through the castle parklands up onto the South Downs. The other way is along the river. The Arundel Wetland Centre is just outside town if you like that sort of thing. You can get a boat trip up the River Arun from the town quay.

The coast is about a fifteen minute drive. Climping Beach and the stretch west from Littlehampton are nice, more natural beaches. Goodwood and Fontwell racecourses are nearby if that's your thing. Chichester with its theatre is about half an hour away.

Inside, it's got what you'd need: wifi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a wood burner for the colder months. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can park one car right outside.
