The Swimming Pool Retreat is near Fontwell in West Sussex. It's in the grounds of a main house on the Slindon Estate, which is owned by the National Trust. The place sleeps two. There's one bedroom and one bathroom.
The main thing is the pool. It's indoors, lined with mosaic tiles. The whole cottage is built around it. The floor around it is slate and the kitchen has granite tops. It's kept at a steady temperature so it's comfortable anytime. It's a four-star rating. It's set up for short breaks, so bookings are for a maximum of six nights.
Outside, there's a garden you share with two alpacas. There's parking on site. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
It's quiet here. You're in the South Downs National Park. The Slindon Estate has over 30 miles of footpaths to walk, including bits of Stane Street, the old Roman road. National Trust Slindon Estate has maps. The village of Slindon is about a mile away.
Within half an hour you can get to a few places. Goodwood is about ten minutes drive for the motor racing or the horse racing. The coast at Climping Beach is about five miles. Arundel with its castle and cathedral is a short drive east. Chichester is also close, for shopping or the theatre.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. The shower is in the bathroom. There is no bath.
