Premium Lake Lodge 1

This is Premium Lake Lodge 1. It’s in Chichester, right next to the water sports centre on the lake.

It’s a single-storey lodge, so there are no stairs at all. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. One has a double bed with its own shower room, the other has bunk beds. There’s a second, separate shower room as well. The kitchen and living area are all in one room. The kitchen part has a two-ring electric hob and a combi microwave oven, so it’s fine for basics but not for big cooking.

You get the lake view from the front. There’s a bit of outdoor space out there, but it’s shared with the other lodges in the row.

The main thing here is the location. You’re right on the lake. There’s a boat that will take you across to the main centre, where there’s a café. The watersports centre itself is open from April to October for renting kit and getting lessons. There are a couple of places to eat within walking distance.

Chichester city centre is about a 20-minute walk or a very short drive. It’s a nice place to wander around, with the cathedral and the old walls. The Festival Theatre is there. If you head the other way, you’re at the coast quickly. Chichester Harbour is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, good for walking and birdwatching. West Wittering beach, which is sandy and has a Blue Flag, is about 20 minutes by car.

Further afield, the South Downs National Park is about a 20 to 30 minute drive north for walking. Goodwood is up there too, for the racecourse and the festival.

Facilities are straightforward. It’s got a 4 Star rating. Parking is on site. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a TV and WiFi. Electricity is all included in the price.
