The Stables is one of two cottages here. They're new builds, but they're in the courtyard of the main house which is a 16th century thatched farmhouse. It's detached, so it's just you. You get your own patio area with a garden table.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both en suite. That's handy. It's a 4 Star property, so it's well done and comfortable. Everything is on the ground floor, which makes it easy. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi is included, and the TV has the main streaming services. It's all wheelchair accessible too.
You're surrounded by over thirty acres of fields. Sometimes there are sheep in them. It's very quiet. You can step straight out from the patio into the fields for a walk. We allow one well-behaved dog.
The location is the main thing. You're about a ten minute drive from the beach at West Wittering. It's a sandy, Blue Flag beach with dunes. It gets busy in summer, but it's very good. Chichester is about the same distance the other way. That's where you'll find the cathedral, the theatre, and most of the shops.
If you like boats, Itchenor is close. You can hire boats there or get the foot ferry across to Bosham. You can also book fishing trips or boat trips into the harbour from there. For sailing or paddleboarding, Chichester Harbour is ideal. There's a pay-and-play golf course nearby as well.
Goodwood is about a twenty minute drive. That's for the horse racing and the Festival of Speed. You might see vintage planes from the aerodrome, sometimes Spitfires.
Further out, you can get to Portsmouth in about twenty minutes. The historic dockyard there has the Mary Rose. There's also outlet shopping at Gunwharf Quays. The South Downs are close for walking. There are several National Trust places within a half hour drive, like Uppark House and Petworth House.
The bus stop for the beach and for Chichester is practically outside the property. There are a few decent pubs and places to eat a short drive away.
