Truffle Cottage is in Chichester, about ten minutes' walk from the centre. It's an octagonal building, one of the oldest houses around here. It was originally built for the local truffle hunter.
It sleeps three people. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, meaning it's clean and comfortable but not posh. The stairs are steep and narrow, which is fairly typical for a cottage this age. It's just something to be aware of.
You come in through the back garden. There's a wooden deck out there with some chairs. Inside, most of the rooms have beams and vaulted ceilings. The main bedroom is upstairs and has a king size bed. The single bedroom and the bathroom with a walk-in shower are on the ground floor.
There's a woodburning stove in the living room, which is good for colder evenings. Parking is on a small gravel driveway at the front.
Being so close to town is the main thing. You can walk in for the shops, the cathedral, or to eat. The Goodwood Estate is nearby if you're interested in the races, the festival of speed, or golf. The South Downs start right on the edge of the city.
The coast is a short drive away. West Wittering beach is about twenty minutes by car if the traffic's alright. You can also drive out to Bosham or Chichester Harbour quite easily.
In terms of what's here: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, wifi, and a TV. No pets, sorry.
For planning days out, the National Trust South Downs and Visit Chichester sites are useful.
