Walnut Tree Cottage
Walnut Tree Cottage is in Patching, a small village near the South Downs. It's a flint cottage, part of the old Duke of Norfolk estate. The views from the garden are good, just fields and the downs.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms which is useful. One bedroom has its own shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's there, it's comfortable.
The stairs inside are a bit steep and narrow, just so you know. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs.
The local pub is about half a mile away down the lane. There's a shop a couple of miles off in Storrington for basics.
You can walk straight onto the Downs from the cottage. The path goes up towards Long Furlong. It's a proper downland walk right from the door.
Arundel is about a ten minute drive. The castle is there if you're interested. The town has shops and cafes. The Arundel Wetland Centre is good for a walk if you like birds.
The coast is about twenty minutes by car. Climping Beach or Goring Beach. Goring is shingle. The National Trust South Downs site has walking maps.
In terms of what's here, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on the gravel drive. You can bring up to two dogs.
