Cockle Cottage is in Elmer, which is just up the coast from Bognor Regis. It's a detached bungalow. That’s good if you don't fancy stairs.
You’re about a five minute walk from the beach. That beach is good. It’s usually quiet. At low tide you can walk out to the rock islands they’ve built offshore. It’s mostly shingle.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. Towels and bedding are included. Because it’s all on the ground floor, it works for a mixed group or if someone has mobility issues. There’s a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking right there.
The shop and a pub are a couple of minutes' walk away. The pub does food.
For walking, the beach path leads west into an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s about half a mile from the cottage to where that starts, then you can follow it for miles towards Littlehampton.
Arundel is about five miles north. It’s got the castle and the wetlands centre. Chichester is about eight miles for the theatre or cathedral. Goodwood is nearby if you’re into the races.
Brighton is 25 miles east. Portsmouth, with the historic dockyard and ferries to the Isle of Wight, is about 30 miles west.
You can bring two dogs.
