The Drey is in Stakeford, Northumberland. It's a detached lodge on a quiet residential park. The park's between some woods and the River Wansbeck.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one is a double and the other has twin beds, and one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. The living area is open plan, with patio doors that open out onto a raised, gated deck. It's a good spot for a coffee in the morning. You can see trees and the river from there.
The kitchen is small but it has a dishwasher. There's a smart TV and the WiFi is included. Bedding and towels are provided. Parking is right outside.
The park itself is a Local Nature Reserve. You might see rabbits, deer, or red squirrels. There's a slipway into the river nearby if you want to launch a kayak or a paddleboard. There's also an on-site café that's open every day.
It's about four miles to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, which has a sandy beach. Morpeth is a ten minute drive. It's a nice market town with an indoor shopping arcade.
For bigger days out, the Northumberland Coast with its castles and beaches is within half an hour. Northumberland National Park and parts of Hadrian's Wall are also about a 30 minute drive inland.
