Rothsay Beach House

Rothsay Beach House is in Newbiggin by the Sea. It's a mid-terrace house about five minutes walk from the beach and the promenade.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom on the ground floor. Two double rooms and one single with a pull-out bed. It's a 4 Star place. It's modern inside, open plan. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and bedding is included. The garden is enclosed.

The stairs are a standard staircase, not a cottage one. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.

Newbiggin itself is a quiet seaside village. There are a couple of pubs that do food, some cafes, and a few shops. For a bigger supermarket, you'd drive to Ashington or Morpeth. Morpeth has an indoor market.

The beach here is sandy. For a longer stretch, Druridge Bay Country Park is about a 15 minute drive south. It's a big bay, good for walking. Amble harbour is about 20 minutes north. From there you can get boat trips to Coquet Island to see the puffins.

Further afield, within about half an hour, you've got the coast at Tynemouth and Whitley Bay. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about 40 minutes north. The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty runs all along here. The Northumberland Coast AONB website has good information for walks.

No pets, sorry.
