Debenham Lodge is in Margate. It's a big house that sleeps seventeen people, which is why I bought it. It has eight bedrooms and every single one has its own bathroom. That's the main thing about it.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The decor is a bit all over the place, a mix of old and new. It's not a show home, it's a house for a big group.
The kitchen is big and has everything you'd need to cook for that many people. The table fits everyone. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, all that stuff. Bedding and towels are included.
Outside, there's a big enclosed garden. There's also a separate building out there which is a games room with a bar and a pool table. It's got its own heating so you can use it all year.
You can bring one dog. There's bike storage if you need it.
Location wise, you can walk to Margate Main Sands in about ten minutes. The Turner Contemporary gallery is on the seafront. The Old Town has independent shops and cafes. Dreamland is the amusement park.
If you want to go further, Broadstairs and Ramsgate are along the coast. You can be in Canterbury in under half an hour. The National Trust has places like Quex Park and South Foreland Lighthouse nearby. The Visit Kent site is useful for planning.
That's about it. It's a big, practical house for a big group, close to the beach.
