The Fairway

The Fairway is a bungalow on Westgate Golf Club in Margate. It's detached and set back from the road. You can see the greens from the front.

It sleeps twelve, which is a lot. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. That's why it's a five star, it's set up for big groups. One of the bedrooms you get to through a sliding door in another bedroom. Another has a door out to a big balcony with a view towards the sea.

The back garden is south facing. There's a patio and then lawn. It's fully enclosed with gates, which is good if you've got kids or a dog. One dog is allowed.

You can walk to the beach at West Bay in about ten minutes. It's sandy. The promenade goes for miles towards Margate one way and Minnis Bay the other.

The local area has the basics. There's a parade of shops opposite the station with a butcher, baker, and a small supermarket. Few cafés and takeaway places. A three screen cinema. The nearest pub is a short walk.

Margate is a quick drive or a decent walk along the front. That's where Dreamland is, and the Turner Contemporary gallery. Main Sands is there too.

You can get to Broadstairs, Ramsgate, and Whitstable within half an hour by car. Canterbury is about forty minutes.

There's parking for several cars on two driveways. The main one has high double gates. We've left some bikes for guests to use, but you use them at your own risk. We don't provide helmets.

Inside, it's got what you'd expect for a group that size. Washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed.

For planning days out, the Visit Thanet site is useful. The Canterbury site covers the city. For coastal walks and nature, Kent Wildlife Trust has good information.
