Fisherman's Rest
Fisherman's Rest is in Broadstairs, a few streets back from the front. It's a terrace house. You share the garden and patio with one other cottage. It's a simple space with a bit of lawn, a table, and a BBQ.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles. One bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well kept and everything works. The stairs are steep, typical for these old fishermen's cottages. The living room is upstairs. The kitchen is down a flight of stairs at garden level.
You're about a ten minute walk from the main sands. Viking Bay is the one with the deckchairs and the bandstand. There are other smaller bays tucked in the cliffs if you explore a bit.
The town centre is close. Shops, a good butcher, bakeries, and plenty of cafes are all a few minutes' walk. There's a pub round the corner and restaurants nearby.
For a day out, you can walk the coast path to Margate. The Turner Contemporary is there, and Dreamland is on the seafront. Ramsgate Harbour is the other direction. Dover Castle and the White Cliffs are about a twenty minute drive. Useful links: National Trust South East and Visit Kent.
