Skiber Spar

This is Skiber Spar. It’s a converted barn in Trewassa, which is a quiet spot inland from the north Cornish coast. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of them is an en suite. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which reflects the renovation.

The layout is upside down. The bedrooms are on the ground floor. The main living area is upstairs, which gets a lot of light. There’s a balcony off the living area. You can see fields and woodland from it, and you often see rabbits, deer, and birds of prey.

The barn is detached, so it's just you. There are about three acres of grounds here to wander, and public footpaths lead straight out onto the edge of Bodmin Moor. The coast is about six miles away.

It's well set up for a break. There's parking, Wi-Fi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and bedding and towels are provided. We accept up to two dogs.

For days out, you’re a short drive from a lot. Camelford is close by for shops. Wadebridge is good for places to eat and has the start of the Camel Trail for cycling. Padstow, with its harbour and restaurants, is about nine miles along that trail. The beaches this way, like Polzeath and Daymer Bay, are good for surfing and walking.

If you head north up the coast, you can get to Tintagel Castle and Boscastle in under half an hour. Port Isaac is about twenty minutes south. Bude is a bit further, maybe forty minutes.
