Greystones

Greystones is in Conistone village. It looks out over the green and the fields. It's an old cottage, early 1800s I think. It's one of a pair, semi-detached, but you get the walled garden to yourself. It's very quiet here.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The walls are thick stone, so it stays cool in summer, but the woodburner warms it up nicely when it's cold.

The pub is about half a mile walk. Decent food. The nearest shop is in Grassington, about three miles by car. The River Wharfe is just a few minutes' walk down the lane. You can start a walk right from the door, really.

Skipton is ten miles away. Good for the castle and the market. Bolton Abbey estate is close, maybe a fifteen minute drive. Fountains Abbey is a bit further, maybe forty minutes. Good for a day out.

If you like fishing or riding, you can arrange that locally. There's storage for bikes if you bring them.

For facilities: there's a washing machine, a TV, and the WiFi works fine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, sorry.

Useful link for planning: the Yorkshire Dales National Park website has all the walking routes and information.
