Foss Gill

This is Foss Gill. It's in Starbotton, which is a small place in the Yorkshire Dales. It's a mid-eighteenth century stone cottage, so the walls are thick and the windows are deep. It feels solid.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating from VisitEngland. It's comfortable and clean. The living room has an open fire. The stairs are typical for a cottage of this age, so they turn and are a bit steep. You have to mind your head in the doorways upstairs.

There's a pub about a hundred yards down the lane. They do food. The nearest shop for basics is in Kettlewell, about a mile and a half away. For a bigger supermarket, you'd drive to Skipton.

The main thing here is the walking. You can step out the door and be on the footpaths straight away. It's right in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Grassington is about nine miles. It's a nice market town with pubs and shops. They have festivals sometimes. Skipton is further down the dale. It's got a castle, a canal, and an indoor swimming pool.

For things to do, the National Trust has a few properties within a half hour or so, like Brimham Rocks. You could drive up to Malham Cove or over to Hawes for the Wensleydale Creamery.

Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car right outside. You can bring up to two dogs.
