The Well House
The Well House is in Starbotton, a small village in Wharfedale. It's in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The cottage sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, all downstairs.
It's a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-furnished. The living space is upstairs. That's where you get the wide views across the valley. There's a wood burner in there for cooler evenings.
The house is built around an old well. It's in the main living area, covered with glass, and it's lit up at night. You can look right down it. It's about a hundred feet deep.
Outside, there's a garden with a couple of seating areas. There's a garage you can use for bike storage. There's also a boot room by the entrance, which is useful for muddy boots and dogs.
The local pub, The Fox and Hounds, is about two minutes' walk away. They do food and have local ales. They're dog-friendly.
For walking, you can pick up the Dales Way very close by. The River Wharfe is about 300 yards from the house. Grassington is a 15-minute drive. It's a good spot for shops and cafes, and they have festivals through the year. Skipton is about half an hour's drive for a bigger market town. You can visit Skipton Castle or go on the canal there.
The property has Wi-Fi and a good mobile signal. Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking. We accept up to two dogs.
