Cam Cottage is in Kettlewell, right in the Yorkshire Dales. It's a detached stone cottage, built in 1652. So it's old, and the walls are thick. It's very quiet.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. That's useful. It's got a 4 Star rating so everything's in good order. It's comfortable, not grand.
The front of the cottage faces south, so you get the sun. There's a small, enclosed patio out the front with some planting. Across the lane, there's a long flower-bed that belongs to the cottage too. The view looks up Wharfedale.
For facilities, there's a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, and wifi. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You can store bikes. We accept two dogs.
You're right in the village. The local shop is about 300 yards away. There are a few pubs and places to eat within a couple of minutes' walk. The closest is about 200 yards.
You can walk straight from the door. The real point of being here is to be in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. For a drive, Grassington is about seven miles. It's a nice little town with shops and pubs. Skipton, with its castle and canal, is just over 14 miles.
Within half an hour you can get to places like Malham Cove and Bolton Abbey. The National Trust's Braithwaite Hall is nearby, and so is Middleham Castle from English Heritage.
If you want a longer day out, Wensleydale, Ilkley, or Harrogate are all within reach.
