Coach House Cottage is in Buckden, at the top of Wharfedale. It's a single-storey cottage in a small courtyard, which makes it quiet. The garden is shared with the other cottages in the converted coach house, but people are rarely out there.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One has a king-size bed, the other has adult-size bunk beds. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and comfortable but you won't find luxurious finishes. It's all on ground level, but there are two small internal steps between the living area and the bedrooms you need to be aware of.
The kitchen is well-equipped for holiday cooking, and the wood burner is easy to use and effective. The pub is directly opposite the courtyard entrance. They serve food. There's no shop in Buckden itself, but Kettlewell, about three miles down the valley, has a couple.
The cottage is right in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You can walk straight out onto Buckden Pike, or there are gentler riverside walks along the Wharfe. It's a great base for it. Grassington is about a 20-minute drive, and Hawes, for the Wensleydale creamery, is about half an hour. Skipton with its castle is also around 30 minutes by car.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, parking for one car, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
