Grisedale Stables Cottage
Grisedale Stables Cottage is on our farm in Skirethorns. It’s a detached, single-storey place we converted from the old stable block. It’s quiet here, just the farm sounds.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and each has its own bathroom, which is handy. It’s a 4 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and well set up.
Because it’s all on one level, there are no stairs. That might suit some people. The floor is stone, so it can feel a bit cool underfoot. The main room is open plan, with the kitchen, dining and sitting area together.
You’re on a working farm. That means you’ll see sheep, hear tractors, and there might be mud on the track sometimes. There’s a brook at the bottom of the field, it’s nice to sit by.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you’re bringing dogs. We allow two. Please keep them on a lead around the farm buildings.
The nearest pub and restaurant is about a mile away, in Grassington. The shop is two miles, in that same direction. Grassington is a proper Dales village, about two miles from here. It has a few shops and cafes.
Skipton is a 15 minute drive. It’s got the castle, a market, and shops you might need. From here, you can get into the Dales easily. Yorkshire Dales National Park has all the walking routes and information.
For facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. The heating and electricity are all in the price.
