Penlee Retreat
Penlee Retreat is in Plymouth, off the Plymstock side. It's a detached house, so no neighbours through the walls. The place is modern, clean, and quiet.
It sleeps eight, but three of those are on a sofa bed in the family room downstairs. There are three proper bedrooms upstairs. Two bathrooms, one is a wet room on the ground floor which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well kitted out and finished to a high standard.
The main living space is open plan, with big doors out to a courtyard garden. The garden is enclosed with planting and some lights, so it's private. You can park on the drive and there's an electric vehicle charger if you need it.
You're about ten minutes in the car from the centre of Plymouth. The Barbican is the old harbour area with pubs and restaurants. The Hoe is the big grassy seafront. Worth a look. For a day out, you can drive onto Dartmoor in under half an hour. Dartmoor National Park has the walks and tors. The coast path east towards Wembury is accessible. To the west, you can cross into Cornwall. The National Trust Cornwall page is good for ideas like Antony or Cotehele.
Facilities: it has the washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if required. You can bring two dogs. The local shop is a short drive away, and there's a pub within walking distance.
