This is the Mayflower Apartment. It's on Elliot Terrace, right on Plymouth Hoe. It's part of a big, grand old building. Ours is apartment number five.
It sleeps nine people. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The building is listed, so the walls are thick and the windows are tall. You get a proper sense of the history here.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out from the Hoe, across the Sound to Drakes Island. It's a dual aspect, so you get light all day. The rooms are big. The cornicing and ceilings are original, so it feels grand, but it's a flat you can live in.
You're right on the Hoe. The Barbican is a ten minute walk down the hill. There's a pub and a restaurant about fifty yards away. The beach at the back of the Hoe is maybe a hundred yards. The outdoor lido pool is on the Hoe as well, if you fancy it.
We include one parking permit for your car. If you need a second space, it's an extra ten pounds. You just need to arrange it with me beforehand.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. One dog is welcome.
For planning days out, the Visit Plymouth site is useful. The National Trust has lots of properties nearby, like Saltram. Dartmoor is about a thirty minute drive if you want some space.
