Sea Cottage is my place in Heybrook Bay. It's a detached bungalow, built in the 70s. It sleeps two.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the sea towards Plymouth. You can see the Breakwater, ships going in and out, and the coast around to Cornwall. The sunsets are good. You can see surfers down in the bay when the tide's right.
It's up high, so you get the full panorama. There's a footpath from the garden that leads down to the local beach, Bovisand, and it connects to the South West Coast Path.
Inside, it's a one-bedroom layout. The bedroom has a double bed and a view of the water. The main living area faces the sea across three connected spaces. The kitchen and bathroom are what you need. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable, not luxurious.
There's a front garden with a patio. It's a nice spot to sit out. The garden is enclosed.
Facilities include a washing machine, WiFi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are provided. No pets, sorry.
For getting about, you're on the edge of the South Hams. Plymouth city centre is about a 15-minute drive. Dartmoor is roughly half an hour. If you head into Cornwall, the Rame Peninsula and Whitsand Bay are close. The National Trust has a lot of coastal land nearby if you're walking.
