The Sir Francis Drake is one of the apartments in a big, grand Victorian building on Plymouth Hoe called Elliot Terrace. It's a five-star place, which means it's got high-spec fittings and is kept to a very high standard.
It sleeps six, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. There’s a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You get one parking permit for the car park out the front. If you need a second car space, that can be arranged for a tenner.
The main thing here is the view, if you get one of the front apartments. You look right out over the Hoe and Plymouth Sound towards Drakes Island. It’s a proper panorama. The building has high ceilings and original cornicing, so it feels a bit special.
You’re right on the Hoe, so you can walk out the door and be there. The Tinside Lido outdoor pool is just down there. The Barbican with its cobbled streets and the Mayflower Steps are about a fifteen minute walk. The city centre is close, maybe five minutes. There’s a shop, a pub, and restaurants literally fifty yards away. The closest bit of beach is a hundred yards.
For days out, you’re well placed. The National Trust Devon page is good for nearby houses and coast. You can get the ferry over to Mount Edgcumbe from the Barbican. Dartmoor is about a forty minute drive. The Eden Project is just over an hour away.
No pets, sorry.
