Chestnut Cottage is one of the holiday cottages at Woodside Stables, near Carkeel in Cornwall. It’s about two miles from Saltash. You get your own bit of garden, and there’s a shared field and a bit of woodland walk on the site. It’s quiet, but the A38 is close, which makes getting about easy.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is useful. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and well looked after. The kitchen and living area are open plan. Everything’s on one level except for one bedroom which is up a small flight of stairs.
There’s a pub and a shop a couple of miles away. The main thing here is the space. It’s on a 27-acre site, so kids can run around. And it has a private hot tub in the garden.
You can bring up to two dogs. We provide bed linen and towels. There’s a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking right outside.
For things to do: the Eden Project is about 25 minutes by car. Plymouth is about 20 minutes over the Tamar Bridge. The beach at Freathy is maybe half an hour. If you want to walk, you can get to the coast path within about 30 minutes driving. The National Trust have a lot of coastal sites here, like Cotehele.
