The Old Canoe Club is on Devils Point in Plymouth. It’s an old stone building that used to be a canoe club, believe it or not. It’s right at the water's edge.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs. It’s a 4 Star, so it’s got good facilities. There are folding beds that can squeeze in two children if you need them.
You get great views from the front and back balconies, looking out across Plymouth Sound. There’s a wood burner for chilly evenings. The garden has a few different spots to sit and a barbecue.
You can walk to Firestone Bay in a minute to swim or launch kayaks. The Royal William Yard, with its restaurants and bars, is just a short walk along the coast path.
In Plymouth, the Hoe and the Barbican are about a 20-minute walk or a quick drive. The National Marine Aquarium is there if you need a wet weather option. For walks, the South West Coast Path is right on the doorstep.
It’s a good spot if you want to explore further into Devon or Cornwall. Dartmoor is about a 25-minute drive. The beaches in South East Cornwall, like Whitsand Bay, are about half an hour away.
Facilities: parking on site, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are provided. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
