Basin Cottage is on the edge of Whaley Bridge. It's a small, two up two down terraced house. It sleeps four, with two double bedrooms and one bathroom. It's been looked after and it's clean, which is what the 4 Star rating means.
The house is right by the canal, so you can watch the narrowboats going past. There's a small patio out the back, which gets the sun. Parking is on the street directly outside.
There's a shared hot tub in the garden at the back, which you share with just one other cottage. You get booked slots for it so it's private. The stairs are quite steep, which is normal for a cottage.
In terms of stuff, it has a washing machine, a TV, WiFi, and all the bedding and towels are included. No pets allowed.
Whaley Bridge is handy for the shops. There's a decent Co-op and a few pubs, all a couple of minutes walk away. A 15 minute drive gets you to Buxton, which has bigger supermarkets, cafes, and the Pavilion Gardens.
The main thing is you're on the edge of the Peak District. You can walk straight up Eccles Pike from the house for decent views. For longer walks, the Goyt Valley is about ten minutes by car and the trails around Kinder Scout are maybe 20 minutes.
If you want to plan days out, the Peak District National Park site is useful. For local history, National Trust Peak District lists their properties nearby.
