Heatherdene

Heatherdene is in Goathland, right in the North York Moors. It's a big, detached house from 1899. It was a hunting lodge, then a boarding school, so the rooms are a good size. You can park about six cars on the gravel drive.

It sleeps twenty-one people. Eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms. The en-suite showers are good. They all have their own TV. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable.

Everyone can eat together in the dining room. There's a stove in there. The ground floor has a useful room for coats and boots, handy for walking gear or golf clubs. It's got Wi-Fi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and an electric vehicle charger.

The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for kids and dogs. You can bring up to four pets.

Goathland is the village they used for Heartbeat and for Hogsmeade station in the Harry Potter films. The shop and pub are a short walk. The pub does food.

You're right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park for walking. The steam trains from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway stop here, which is a nice day out. You can get to Whitby in under half an hour for the coast. Pickering and the market at Helmsley are also about thirty minutes away.
