Westside Cottage is a gorgeous self-contained annexe and is ideally located to act as a bijou bolthole for weekend breaks and holidays to the West Sussex Coast. Arriving onto the gravel drive Westside Cottage greets you through French doors into the vaulted open plan living area. The kitchen is well-equipped kitchen and the dining area has a bistro style table looking out over the courtyard. The cosy sofa for two is a lovely corner to put your feet up and read a book or catch up with the latest series on the Smart TV. Through the living room is the kingsize bedroom with oak beams above and spacious built-in wardrobe with space for cases and evening wear plus an en-suite shower room. Outside there is a suntrap patio in front of your gravel parking space and a separate laundry room next door which is reminiscent of the famous Bognor bathing huts.
Being a detached annexe next to the Grade II listed main house the owners are never too far away should you need assistance during your stay. Westside Cottage also offers direct access onto the main Aldwick Road for easy reach to the beach, Chichester, the South Downs and all the local attractions beyond. Aldwick is a pretty village close to Bognor Regis dominated by the grand Aldwick Bay Private Estate which fronts onto the beach. There are some lovely restaurants nearby including Mustards Chez Moi and Mamma Mia all in Bognor and The Lobster Pot in Felpham for wonderfully fresh seafood. The coastline between Aldwick Bay and Bosham is a haven for unusual birds and wildlife with Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve and Chichester Harbour a little further to the west both being Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pagham Harbour is an internationally important site for nature conservation while Chichester Harbour also combines its wildlife attractions with sailing centres such as Itchenor and Bosham.
The cathedral city of Chichester is only 5 miles away and has played a key role in the affairs of Sussex since at least Roman times. The city has broad streets that are packed with listed buildings, headed by the towering presence of the cathedral. Neatly enclosed within the ancient but fantastically preserved Roman city walls, Chichester centre is compact and a joy to explore on foot. It is a cosmopolitan vibrant and friendly city proudly combining two thousand years of heritage with a lively lifestyle. Chichester Festival Theatre is well worth a visit; famous for its quality of theatre production many of which premiere here before moving on to the London scene. Just beyond Chichester is the famous Goodwood Estate which offers a range of activities including a championship golf course the motor circuit racecourse and aerodrome and all offer an exciting calendar of events throughout the year.
