Woodlands View
Woodlands View is a detached barn conversion just outside Thorncombe village. It's a four star place, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It sleeps four people in two bedrooms, and it has two bathrooms which is handy.
The main thing is the view. The back of the barn opens onto a raised terrace that looks directly out over fields and woods. It's very quiet. You can sit out there with your morning coffee and not hear much at all.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs. There's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. The stairs have a stairgate fitted if you need it. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.
You can walk into Thorncombe in about ten minutes. It has a very good community-run shop. There are footpaths right from the property if you want to go walking. Because there are sheep and cattle in the neighbouring fields, you need to keep dogs under control if you have them. We accept up to two pets.
In terms of things to do: Crewkerne and Beaminster are both about a ten minute drive for shops and cafes. The Jurassic Coast, places like Lyme Regis or West Bay, is around a twenty to thirty minute drive. For historic houses, Forde Abbey is just two miles away. The National Trust has several properties within a half hour drive too, like Barrington Court.
The parking is right next to the barn. Please note there's a shepherd's hut in the garden, but that's just for our storage and isn't part of the let.
