Demelzas Retreat

Demelzas Retreat is on a small holiday park near Four Lanes, just outside Redruth. It's a lodge, so single-storey. Looks out over open fields.

It sleeps three, sometimes four. Two bedrooms. One double with a small ensuite toilet and basin, and a second room with a single bed and a pull-out trundle bed for an extra person. One main bathroom with a shower.

Inside it's open plan. Living area, kitchen, dining space. There's an electric fire for cooler nights. It's got the 3 Star rating, so it's clean and functional.

You've got the decked area outside to sit on. It gets the sun.

On the park itself, there's an indoor heated swimming pool you can use. There's also a kids' play area. Parking is right outside.

There are two pubs within walking distance. Both serve food.

You're well placed for getting about. The coast at Portreath or Porthtowan is about ten minutes in the car. Both are good surfing beaches. For walking or cycling, the Great Flat Lode trail is right there, circling Carn Brea. You can follow the Bissoe Trail all the way to Portreath if you're on a bike.

Further afield, Godrevy, which is a National Trust site with great cliffs and beaches, is about half an hour's drive. St Ives is a bit further but doable. You're also not far from the main A30, so getting to west Cornwall or back towards Truro is straightforward.

Facilities: All bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi, TV, washing machine. The kitchen has the basics. No pets, sorry.
