Eight Byre
It's just outside Allonby on the Solway Firth. Eight Byre used to be an outbuilding, I think for animals. It's got a stone floor and beams. If you don't like that sort of thing, it's not for you. The ceiling is vaulted, which stops it feeling small.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower over the bath. The living area, kitchen and bed are all in one open space. There's a washing machine. The WiFi works okay. You can bring one dog.
There's a small garden out the front you can use. Parking is right there.
Allonby has a very long, flat beach. It's sandy. Good for walking the dog or a run. The sunsets across the water to Scotland can be good. There's a local shop and a couple of pubs. Twentyman's does ice cream.
It's quiet here. If you want proper walking or hiking, you drive into the Lake District. Keswick is about half an hour. Cockermouth is closer, maybe fifteen minutes, for shops and cafes.
The Solway Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For walking routes and things to see, the Lake District National Park site is useful.
Things to know: you share the garden with the other cottage. The games room is in a separate building on site. The stairs to the mezzanine where the bed is are quite steep, like a ship's ladder.
