The Stables is in Mawbray, Cumbria. It's a two bedroom place that sleeps three. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable but not luxurious. There's one bathroom with a shower.
The front room is open plan, with the kitchen at one end. Upstairs, there's a small second living area we call the snug. It's got some books and local leaflets in there. The garden is a good size and fully enclosed.
You're about 200 metres from the beach at the Solway Firth. Over the road is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and the whole coastline is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's very flat and open here, big skies.
The local pub is a short walk away. For more places to eat, Allonby village is about two miles along the coast road. They've got a couple of hotel restaurants and cafés.
Silloth is five miles north. There's a promenade for walking and cycling, and the Silloth Greenmouth fishing marks. The golf course there, Silloth on Solway, is very well-regarded. Maryport is eight miles south. It has a maritime museum and an aquarium.
The Lake District National Park is within a 30 minute drive for bigger hills and walks. Carlisle is about half an hour east. Hadrian's Wall is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking. There's also an electric vehicle charger. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
