Engine House is in Allonby, right by the Solway Firth. It's a converted stone barn in a courtyard. You get the garden to yourselves.
The place sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite to the main bedroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The conversion kept a lot of the original features, like the stone walls and beams. There's a stone floor in the hall. The living room is big, and double doors lead through to the dining room and kitchen. Upstairs, there's a little seating area with a view straight out across the water to the Scottish hills.
Allonby itself is quiet. The beach is about a mile away. It's good for walks and the sunsets can be spectacular. You can see a lot of birds, and sometimes seals. The local pub is about a ten minute walk.
If you want to get out, the Solway Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Hadrian's Cycleway goes through the village. For a bigger day out, the Lake District National Park is about half an hour's drive. Things like Keswick, Derwentwater, and Bassenthwaite Lake are all within that sort of range.
What's here: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to three dogs. Parking is on site.
