The Milking Parlour is in Allonby, on the Solway coast. It's a ground-floor conversion, part of a small courtyard of cottages. You have your own patio area and there's a shared garden with picnic tables.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one king and one twin, and one bathroom with a bath and shower over. It has a 4 Star rating. It's open plan inside, which we find makes it feel quite spacious. The main doors open out onto the patio.
The village is small. The beach is about a 15-20 minute walk away, a good stretch of sand. There's a local shop and a couple of pubs, all walkable. There's a famous ice cream place here called Twentyman's.
For a proper day out, the Lake District is about a 30 minute drive. Keswick and Derwentwater are a good place to start. Maryport, about ten minutes away, has a Roman museum if that's your thing. There's good birdwatching along the coast at the RSPB reserves.
It says it's a luxury property, which means it's well finished and comfortable. Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
