Penny Rigg Cottage is in the middle of Coniston village. It's a mid-terraced house. We had it refurbished a few years ago.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom. One has a shower, the other a bath. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well equipped.
You can park your car on the private space out front and just leave it. The shops and pubs in the village are a minute's walk away. You can get onto the footpaths for the fells from the doorstep. The Old Man is right there. Coniston Water is about a ten minute walk down the road.
The sitting room has a wood-burning stove and a decent sized sofa. The kitchen has everything you'd need, and a table for four. There's a washing machine. Out the back is a small courtyard garden with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the morning. There's an anchor point for bikes.
We accept up to two well-behaved dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
For things to do, Grizedale Forest is just up the road for walking and cycling. Hawkshead is a short drive. The ferry across Windermere sometimes runs from nearby, which saves driving around. Ambleside and Keswick are both within a half hour drive.
