The Aviary

The Aviary is near Callington. It’s detached, but it's part of a small group of cottages on the same land. You can book them together if you’ve got a bigger group.

It sleeps up to nine people. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining, and living area. The sofa is huge, and there are two single sofa beds in that space too. There's a bedroom on the ground floor with a super kingsize bed that can be split into twins. The ground floor bathroom has a bath and a good-sized shower, which is handy.

Upstairs, the ceilings slope. There’s a large master bedroom with a small balcony, again with a kingsize that can be twins. The third bedroom has bunk beds and a single, so it works for kids. There's also a shower room up there.

You get your own private garden area with a fire pit and loungers. Then there are about two acres of shared gardens with more seating and another fire pit. It's good for games or just sitting out.

Facilities are all there: parking, Wi-Fi, washing machine, dishwasher, an electric vehicle charger, and a storage room for bikes or muddy gear. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.

Local pub is about a mile and a half away in the village. For a day out, the Eden Project is about a 20 minute drive. Cotehele House and Quay are closer, maybe 15 minutes. Adrenalin Quarry is just down the road. You're right on the edge of Bodmin Moor and the Tamar Valley, so walking is easy. Golf at St Mellion is ten minutes away.

Useful links for the area: National Trust Cornwall and Cornwall Council Countryside for walking.
