Grapevine

Grapevine is a cottage in Branscombe, which is right on the coast in east Devon. It's an end of terrace cottage in the village. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The garden is secluded, with some flowers and a couple of places to sit.

Inside, it's got beams and an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. There's heating for winter. It's south-facing, so it gets the sun, and you look out over fields and woods. You might see deer or birds of prey from the window.

Please be aware the stairs are steep. There's a stairgate at the top for little ones.

For facilities, you get a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. They also provide beach towels, bathrobes, and some toiletries. There's parking on site. You can store bicycles or kayaks here. There's a BBQ in the garden. No pets, sorry.

Branscombe itself is a proper Devon village with thatched cottages. There's a pub about half a mile away, and a shop a mile away. The beach is just over a mile down the valley. The beach has a thatched cafe that does food. There's a path from the beach up to the village, passing the old forge and a water mill.

You're on the edge of the National Trust East Devon coast land, so there's a lot of walking right from the door. The South West Coast Path is here too. The village is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A short drive gets you to other places. Beer, the fishing village with its caves, is about ten minutes away. Sidmouth is about twenty minutes. For a day out, The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth is free to visit. Exeter, for shopping or the cathedral, is about forty minutes by car.
