The Sail Loft
The Sail Loft is in Beer. It's up a little side street, about a minute's walk from the sea front. You get a parking permit for the public car park, which is handy.
It's a one-bedroom place, so it's just for two people. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped. There's a dishwasher, a washing machine, and good wifi. The shower is over the bath.
The cottage is small, but it's set up for a comfortable stay. There's a smart TV in the lounge and a smaller one in the bedroom. The stairs up to the bedroom are quite steep, like a ship's ladder. You get used to it.
Beer beach is pebble, not sand. It's a lovely spot. You can watch the fishing boats. There are a couple of cafes right on the front for a coffee or a pasty.
A good shop is just down the street, less than a minute away. There are pubs and restaurants within a short walk too.
For walking, you're right on the South West Coast Path. You can walk to Branscombe or over to Seaton. Lyme Regis is about five miles if you drive. The National Trust looks after the headland here.
If it rains, Beer Quarry Caves are interesting. The Seaton Tramway is a short drive away and goes along the river. The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth is free to visit.
Things to know: there's an enclosed patio area out the back. Bedding and towels are included. No pets allowed.
