Stable Cottage is one of four barns on our farm, at the end of the row. It's Grade II listed, which mainly means the walls are thick and the windowsills are deep. The view looks out over our fields and the Axe Valley towards Seaton. It's quiet here, just sheep most of the time.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy if you've got a few families sharing. It's got a 4 Star rating. The heating comes from a wood chip boiler, and we've got solar panels. It's warm.
You're welcome to walk around the farm, about 150 acres of fields and a bit of woodland. There's an enclosed patio with a table and a small pond. There's a children's play area too, with a swing and a slide.
Seaton is two miles down the road. It's got a long pebble beach and the Seaton Tramway goes from there. The coast path is good for walks. Lyme Regis is about 20 minutes by car, for the Cobb and sailing. Sidmouth is about the same drive, the other way.
For a day out, the Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth is free and you can just wander in. Or there's Bicton Park for big gardens. Exeter is half an hour away for shopping or the Cathedral.
The facilities are all there: washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi, a wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
There's a shop about a mile and a half away in Colyton, and a pub a mile down the lane that does food.
