It's called Ashley's. It's down on a working sheep farm just outside Colyton. The building used to be a barn. It's single storey, so all on the ground floor, which is handy. You get two bedrooms and a bathroom each, so three bathrooms in total really. Sleeps four.
It's got a 4 Star rating from Visit Britain. I'd say that means it's comfortable and well looked after. It's warm, but the heating is a bit different. It comes from a biomass boiler that runs on wood from the farm. The electricity is from solar panels. You can see the sheep and sometimes the farm dogs working from the garden.
The garden looks out over the Axe Valley. There's about 150 acres of fields and woods here to wander, not all of it is for guests but a fair bit is. There's a kids' play area on site too.
It's about two miles to Seaton. They've got a long, pebble beach there. You can get the tram from Seaton to Colyton, it goes along the estuary. The tram stop is right by the Seaton Marshes, which is good for a walk if you like birdwatching.
Lyme Regis is about a 15 minute drive. That's where the Cobb harbour is, and you can go sailing. The Donkey Sanctuary is nearby, near Sidmouth. If you need a shop, the nearest is about a mile and a half. There's a pub and restaurant a mile down the lane.
What's here: there's parking right outside. A woodburning stove for cooler evenings, and a patio with a BBQ. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can put a cot and highchair in if you need them. No pets, sorry.
