Stockham Lodge

Stockham Lodge is near Southleigh, in Devon. It’s a converted barn, detached, on the side of a valley. The view is the main thing. It looks south over the valley, so it’s sunny.

It sleeps ten people. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. There’s also a wet room on the ground floor. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s well equipped.

The living space is big, it was farm buildings so the rooms are a good size. Outside, there’s a paved terrace off the main living area. It’s a proper spot for a morning coffee or an evening drink. There’s a hot tub on the terrace, and a sauna and fitness room inside.

You’re about two and a half miles from Branscombe beach. Beer is close by, a few minutes in the car. It’s a proper fishing village with shops and places to eat. Sidmouth, Seaton, and Lyme Regis are all within a ten mile drive.

For walks, you’re on the edge of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can walk down the valley from the lodge. National Trust Devon manages a lot of the coast nearby. The coastal path is spectacular. Blackbury Camp, an iron-age hill fort, is on the way down to the sea at Branscombe.

At the lodge itself, we’ve included things like a washing machine and dishwasher. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There’s parking for several cars on the gravel drive.

If you want to plan days out, these sites are useful: East Devon National Landscape for walking and Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site for the local beaches and geology.
