This is Castle Hill House, in Sidbury. It's a big detached place, sleeps twelve. You turn off the main road and go up a private drive to get here.
The house sits quite high up. The main thing is the view. You get a wide view over the valley, down towards Sidmouth and the sea. It's very quiet.
There are six bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's a Four Star rating, so it's well-kept and comfortable. It works well for a big family or a group of friends.
The garden is enclosed, about four acres. There's a tennis court. It's playable, but the surface is a bit worn in spots.
Sidbury village has a shop and a pub, about a mile's walk down the hill. The coast at Sidmouth is three miles away. It's on the Jurassic Coast, so the beaches are a mix of sand and pebbles.
If you drive for half an hour, you can get to places like Beer, Branscombe, or the Donkey Sanctuary. Exeter is about a twenty minute drive.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and logs for the wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to three dogs.
For planning walks or days out: National Trust Devon and the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty sites are useful.
