The Coastal Hideaway is near Sidmouth. It’s a detached house, not actually in the town. You’re up on the hillside, so you get a view over the rooftops to the sea. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you’re bringing dogs.
It sleeps seven. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom is on its own up on the second floor, with an en-suite shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable, not overly fancy.
The property is a couple of minutes from a supermarket. You can walk down into Sidmouth, but it's a steep hill coming back. The bus stop is close if you don’t fancy the walk.
Sidmouth itself is about a four minute drive. It’s a proper Regency town. Nice beach, a mix of pebble and sand. Good shops, cafes, and a few pubs. There’s a swimming pool and a cinema if the weather turns.
The house is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The coastal path is right there. You can walk west towards Branscombe and Beer. East Devon is good for walking.
For days out, Dartmoor is within half an hour. The Donkey Sanctuary near Seaton is popular. For local heritage sites, the National Trust page for Devon is useful. The Jurassic Coast is the bigger draw here, obviously.
Facilities: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. Parking for two cars on the drive.
You can bring up to two dogs. There’s an extra charge for that.
