Otters Cottage
Otters Cottage is in Ottery St Mary. It's a town, not a village, but it feels like one. You're right in the middle of it.
It sleeps two people properly, but there's a second bedroom with a bunk bed. That bunk is really only for children, and they say under 16s. The stairs up to the bedrooms are narrow and winding. You've been warned.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's well kept and comfortable. You've got a wood burner, a dishwasher, and wifi. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you bring a dog. You can bring one dog.
The pub is about five minutes walk. The town has good butchers and bakers, and some interesting old buildings. The Tumbling Weir on the River Otter is worth a look.
You're about six or seven miles from the coast at Sidmouth. Budleigh Salterton, Beer, and the rest are all within a half hour drive. Dartmoor National Park is about thirty minutes west if you want proper walking. Exeter is easy to get to for shopping or the cathedral.
