Dolgoed House

It's Dolgoed House, near Bethlehem. That's in Carmarthenshire, in the Brecon Beacons. It's down a country lane, so it's quiet. You look out over fields and towards an old hill fort called Carn Goch.

It's a detached stone house that sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor. There's character stuff like exposed stone and beams. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's very well finished.

Inside, there's a wood-burning stove for colder evenings. You've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there.

Outside, there's a decent sized lawned garden and a patio with furniture. Good for sitting out if you get the weather. There's space to store bikes if you bring them.

The village of Bethlehem itself is small. The nearest shop, pubs, and a restaurant are about three miles away in Llangadog. Llandeilo is also close, that's a nice town with more places to eat and some independent shops.

You're in the western part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. There's a lot of good walking straight from the door, or up in the Fforest Fawr Geopark which isn't far. The area is known for red kites, you'll see them flying about.

Carreg Cennen Castle is a dramatic ruin on a cliff edge, about a 10 minute drive. Dinefwr Castle and Park is near Llandeilo, and the National Botanic Garden of Wales with its big glasshouse is about a 20 minute drive. If you fancied the coast, Pembrey Country Park has a long beach and it's roughly half an hour by car.

No pets, I'm afraid.
