Maes Merlin is in Twynllanan, near Llandovery in Carmarthenshire. It's a converted barn, so it's detached and quite private. The back garden is fully enclosed and looks out over the fields.
It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is useful. One bathroom is a ground floor wet room. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done to a high spec. It feels new and clean.
There's a private hot tub in the garden. It's a good spot for stargazing as there's not much light pollution. The stairs inside are a typical barn conversion style, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner.
You're right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. A good walk from the door is up to Llyn y Fan Fach, the glacial lake. It's a proper hike, but the views are worth it. For mountain biking, you can head straight onto the Black Mountain tracks.
Llandeilo and Llandovery are the nearest towns, about a 15-minute drive. They have decent shops, cafes, and a few restaurants. The nearest shop and pub are about four miles away.
If you want a day out, Carreg Cennen castle is spectacular. The Dinefwr Park Estate is good for a walk to see the deer. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is about half an hour away. There's a Red Kite feeding station at Bwlch Nant yr Arian, which is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes.
In terms of stuff here: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's bike storage if you need it. Parking is right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
