Y Stabl is on our farm near Bethlehem. The name means "The Stable". It's a stone barn conversion. It's detached, so no neighbours attached to you.
It sleeps ten people, which is why we get a lot of families or groups. There are five bedrooms and every one has its own bathroom. That's useful with a full house.
The property has a five star rating. It's comfortable and well equipped. You'll find beams and stone walls. It's got character, but it's not dark or poky.
There's a wood burning stove in the living room for cooler evenings. Outside, there's a decent sized lawned garden and a patio with furniture. You get views over our fields towards Carn Goch, which is an old Iron Age hill fort.
You're in the west of the Brecon Beacons National Park here. The village of Bethlehem is tiny, just a few houses really. The nearest proper shops and pubs are in Llandeilo or Llangadog, about three miles away. Both have some good places to eat.
For walking, you're right on the edge of Fforest Fawr. It's part of the UNESCO Geopark. The ridges up there give you spectacular views. You'll see red kites soaring around, they're common here.
Carreg Cennen Castle is a must see. It's a proper ruin on a cliff edge. Dinefwr Castle and Park is near Llandeilo too. The National Botanic Garden of Wales, with the big glass dome, is about a 20 minute drive.
If you fancy the coast, it's about a 40 minute drive south. You've got places like Kidwelly Castle and the long beach at Pembrey Country Park.
In terms of what's here, you've got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Plenty of parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
For planning your visit, these sites are useful: Brecon Beacons National Park, National Trust Carmarthenshire, and Fforest Fawr Geopark.
