Bramble Cottage Mountain Retreat Twynllanan

Bramble Cottage is our place in Twynllanan. It's a converted cow barn on our farm. We live in the main house across the yard. It's detached, so you have your own space.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom is good. There are French doors out to the patio. The garden has a stream running through it, it's not fenced, so you'd need to watch kids or dogs.

It's a working farm. There are sheep and cattle in the fields, and about 20 acres of woodland with river walks you're welcome to use. We can offer a laundry service, and we can do breakfast, afternoon tea or an evening meal if you arrange it in advance. There's parking right there.

You're up in the Black Mountain part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. You can get straight onto the hill from the farm gate. The walk up to Llyn y Fan lake is about an hour and a half from here. The views are incredible.

The nearest shop and pub are in Llanddeusant, which is about six miles away. For a bigger choice, Llandeilo is less than half an hour's drive. They've got decent shops and places to eat. The Visit Wales Brecon Beacons site is useful for planning.

This area is an International Dark Sky Reserve. On a clear night, you can see the Milky Way from the garden. No light pollution.

Facilities: there's a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage if you need it.
